TENNIS-SPECIFIC FITNESS DRILLS

use cones or tennis cans in place of hurdles if you need to.
  1. time yourself for "6 & Down" and try to improve over the summer.
  2. "Run-Shuffle" drill: get a partner to feed balls to you OR just shadow-hit if you're on your own.
  3. Skip #3 (Baseline Cable)
  4. "3 Hops & React":  Have a partner toss you a shot as you land from your 3rd hop.  Good timing is a must!
  5. "Run-Shuffle-Run" works on lateral speed (a MUST in tennis!).  Start with 1 and work up to 5 down and backs.  To make it more challenging, time yourself and try to improve your score.
  6. Skip
  7. "6 Cone Pickup".  Time yourself!
